Recognizing the Competitive Achievement

The CGA Race of Champions
provides competition and awards for the fastest and most accurate riders, horses,
and ponies.
Each ROC Award is given in
both the Horse and the Pony Divisions.
Champion and
Reserve Champion in each Event
For each of the thirteen individual
events
, the rider's three fastest times are averaged. The rider with the highest average
is the ROC
Champion and the rider with the second highest average is the
Reserve Champion. The winners receive
a jacket listing each event in which they have placed.
Yearly Record Holder in each Event
For each of the thirteen individual
events,
the rider with the fastest time for the season is awarded an inscribed medallion
for each event in which they hold the season record.
Hall of Fame
The ultimate achievement is to ride to the Hall of Fame. Any
ROC rider who during the show season becomes AAA+ rated in twelve (12) of the
thirteen (13)
events
will be entered into the CGA Hall of Fame. The award is a special
Hall of Fame buckle and a framed photograph of the Rider and
mount.
Elite Top Ten Riders
For each of the thirteen individual
events,
the rider's three fastest times are averaged. The top ten riders in each event
are awarded points. (i.e. 11 points for First Place, 9 points for Second Place,
&c.) The riders points from all thirteen
events,
are added together. The riders with the ten highest number of points for the
season become the Elite Top Ten. The award is a special
Top Ten Buckle.
Supreme Rider
Any ROC rider who during the show
season achieves a Supreme rating in all of the thirteen (13)
events
will be honored as a CGA Supreme Rider. The award is a special
three piece Supreme Rider buckle, framed photograph of the
Rider and mount, and a prize of One Thousand Dollars.
Supreme and Super-Supreme Horse or Pony
Any ROC horse or pony that has
entered the CGA Hall of Fame five (5) times will be recognized
as a Supreme Horse or Pony. The rider will receive a framed
photograph and an embroidered blanket.
Any horse or pony that has entered the CGA Hall of Fame ten
(10) times will be recognized as a Super-Supreme Horse or Pony.
The rider will receive a framed photograph, an embroidered blanket, and a hand
made custom silver halter with lead rope.
All Around Champion Horse and Pony
For each of the thirteen individual
events,
the horse's three fastest times are averaged. The top five horses in each event
are awarded points. (i.e. 6 points for First Place, 4 points for Second Place,
&c.) The horse's points from all thirteen
events,
are added together. The Horse with the most points for the season will be declared
the All Around Champion Horse. The Pony with the most points
for the season will be declared the All Around Champion Pony.
The award is a special silver Buckle.
Royal Crown Rider
Any rider that has entered the CGA Hall of Fame five (5) times
will be recognized as a Royal Crown Rider. They will receive
a special Royal Crown buckle and a framed photograph at the
CGA
Annual Convention
To Begin the Quest
Riders submit a
signup form
and pay a fee to begin their quest for these awards. The rules and conditions
vary between award programs. Please read the
Information Manual
carefully for details.
