Phyllis Odom
General Manager
Hi, My name is Phyllis Odom and I became a member of
CGA in 1994. I hadn’t been on horses much with the exception of a
few trail rides at the local rental stables in the area. Due to the constant nagging
from my teen age daughter Tiffany, I thought I would give CGA a try and I have been
hooked ever since. I now have the pleasure of not only competing with my daughter,
but watching my 3 year old grand daughter ride lead line as well.
In 1995 I became a member of the board for the Bay Area
Time Busters and Distric #16 (now District
8) and have been a district delegate for both districts in past
years.
In January of 2003 I quit my job as a controller for a multi million dollar commercial
roofing company in the bay area to find work closer to home.
In November of 2003 I submitted my bid to become the General Manager for CGA and
run the CGA State Office. I was chosen by the
Board of Directors
to receive the job and am currently working in that capacity. Since taking the position
of General Manager I have implemented a raffle program that has earned CGA over
$5,000.00 in profit over the last 3-1/2 years, increased awards at the
Classics
and
State Championship Show
with the help of the
Board of Governors
and started a match race sponsor program with the help of my husband
Rodger Odom.
In 2007 I was nominated to run for the CGA
Board of Directors
and will be assuming that position as well in November of 2007.
